No one appears to know the exact source of *river* yet it runs through all walks of life as it meanders its way along the many struggles of nature.

How far, how long, how wide can it stretch to exhibit it's commanding prowess over the storms of the day. Or shall it succumb to the harsh efforts of mother nature to subdue and collect this great water in a *lake*.

EPISODE 13

"I will give you some few minutes to discuss it and then take your responses", he said. They talked and talked and finally came to a conclusion. "Nana, we don't know what the person did but we know the calamities the person has brought to us all. As we even speak, our waters have dried up. Since the person didn't think about our happiness, we have also decided to end his or her life. Please, we ask that you put him to death. Death by fire! We the people of Asabum have spoken", their leader said.

"Well spoken my people. That was what I also planned so it's good", the chief said. "Now let's go to what our ancestors said. The culprit is in our midst. He is a stranger living under my roof. Do you know of any stranger living under my roof?", he asked. They all turned to look at each other. "...but Nana, you live with a stranger in there. He is not a native of our land", a voice shouted. "Yes, I know but wanted to hear from you. This stranger came to live under my roof after incurring the wrath of the gods. He decided to bring calamity to my people. Though he is my friend, I will not spare him. He is definitely going to die by fire. What do you say my people?", Nana asked.

"Exactly our chief! He must die! Sparing his life will mean preparing another community for such calamities. Let's not spare him. Our ancestors wouldn't have told you if they didn't want you to do something about it. Nana, please let's not waste time on this. We need to save our land from him. Our people must not die. Our land needs to produce water. Please our decision stands!", an angry woman said from the crowd. "Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! Our people must not die. Save our land from the wicked and unjust.

He must taste the sweet side of death and confirm to his people when he gets there", the people said in accordance. "...but Nana, where is he? Why didn't you come with him? We hope you didn't come here to make mockery of us", an old man said in a rather soft tone. "Not at all. He's under house rest", the chief replied. The angry people couldn't wait anymore. Their blood were hot. They marched to the king's house and demanded Asare be brought out immediately. The chief tried to stop them but vengeance was all over them.

"What has he done and where are you taking him to? Where are you taking him to? Can any of you talk to me?" Nana's wife asked them but none replied. They dragged him out to where the chief was. He couldn't escape their beatings and insults.
Nana's wife followed them with her piece of wrapper around her waist and her baby at her back. She ran after them and pleaded with them to stop. All these while, they were beating Asare Bediako.
