"Sorrows of an Eagle"
Episode 8

He couldn’t take it anymore. Things were getting worse.

He went into his room,  went on his  knees and cried unto God. He didn't eat nor drink that day.
He fasted and prayed to God to protect his son wherever he was.
He stayed indoors without coming out of his room for two days. He was not eating not drinking. He continued to fast and pray that God would touch the heart of his son for him to return.
He began distancing himself from his wife with the notion that she was full of bad ideas. Though they slept in the same room and on the same mat, he slept early to avoid talking to his wife.

He would always go to the room alone and cry to God. That was a man who loved God and after God's own heart.
The news about the disappearance of the prince was all over.
People began to talk about it, and as usual, ladies would do their thing. They would stand in groups and gossip.
As for Oheneyere Asantewaa, she went about her normal duties. She knew her son would be back. Was it wrong for him to travel? After all, he would be a chief and it would be bad for him not to have travelled.
" He would be back as a full grown man ready to rule. He would be like his father, but may acquire more wealth than his father. With his handsomeness, he may have many wives and many children. He would have to produce all that his father couldn't produce. Besides, that was another work assigned to man by God. Man must procreate and continue God's work", Oheneyere Asantewaa thought.

It was getting to a full year and no one  had heard of the whereabouts of the prince. The chief couldn't stop thinking of it.
Nyamekye Adepa was his only child and the heir apparent to the throne. What could have made him leave the house without returning or even sending a message? Or some animals have preyed on his flesh?
Many thoughts ran through the mind of Nana Aduhene Sekyi. He couldn’t sit on his seat for more than five minutes. It was as if his world was coming to an abrupt end.
Day in day out, he would go to his room and cry his heart out to God. He trusted God for that. He had served the Lord with all his might and power, there'd not been a single day that the Lord had forsaken him.

As for Oheneyere Asantewaa, it seemed she cared less about the whole issue. Nyamekye was her only child though, but that didn't mean he shouldn't be given the chance to explore. He would definitely come back, come what may. He couldn't die in a foreign land.
...but that wasn't what Nana was thinking of. He had failed his promise to God. He promised he would make Nyamekye serve him, but it was so clear that he wasn't ready to do the will of his father. He had his own ways. It wasn't necessary to follow the steps of his father.
If it was his destiny to be the chief, no matter what, he would be the chief. That didn't mean he should always be at the feet of his father.
